Meeting with city officials & Media in Toledo
On this day day during the tour we were honored to meet city council members at Toledo City Hall. Councilman Michael Ashford presented me with an official glass on behalf of Mayor Jack Ford. I was also presented with a Proclamation from City Council representative Peter Gerken. Once again, the great folks from the media were on hand: Channel 11 WTLO (CBS), Channel 24 WNWO (NBC) and the FOX affiliate. The Toledo Blade was also at the event.
Local governments and the community seems to really be embracing what the tour is all about. It humbles and gladdens me to know the impact my tour is having. I’m just one man but I’m picking up fitness partners all along my tour. Every person that makes the decision to be healthier and fit is one more spoke on the wheel toward our fitness Revolution!
That gives me a lot of inspiration and helps me motivate to carry on. The road is going to be tough, but it’s all worth it. Every person that I get a chance to speak to gives me more fuel for the journey. Every time someone gets motivated to get fit and live healthier we all win. When I was the motivational coach for Kansas State Football I tried to instill in the guys a sense of how important each individual’s effort was for the whole team.
Each player giving a little more, when combined as a whole, could make all the difference towards winning the championship. That’s how it is with fitness in America and the world. If each of us would just put in a little effort towards being more fit it would be a great movement, a revolution – and we would all be champions. So give it a try, just improve a little each day. You don’t have to move a mountain tomorrow. Just make a small improvement then another one the day after that. Before long you’ll discover that you’ve moved that mountain without even noticing.
Keep Going for the GOLD! Never Give Up!
