Kevin served on the council as the only member with a disability, and was the only called upon and appointed at the WHITE HOUSE by Presidents Bush and Clinton. Member, President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports 1992 to 2000: Senior Member from 1993. George W. Bush named Saunders as a constituent expert on fitness for people with disabilities to serve with the President’s Council on Physical Fitness Sports & Nutrition for the Department of Health & Human Services. Traveling “ambassador” for the council, speaking with America’s youth to encourage them to participate in the President’s Challenge and make fitness an integral part of their daily lives.
